"I have been smoking meats for about 5 years. Before discovering your rub I made my own, or used some of the commercial brands. Since the very first time I used your rub I don't waste my time with any of those. I apply it to the meat, let the meat come to room temperature, I never put a cold piece of meat in smoker. By the time the meat is ready to smoke it is covered with a saucy 'marinade' that provides great taste and a beautiful 'crust' to the meat. Also works great on grilled steaks, salads, vegetables and, believe it or not, cottage cheese. Thanks for a great product."

"I am totally amazed with your rub. I'm in the military stationed in Norfolk, VA. Being that I'm from Texas, you can always find me talking smack about Texas having the best BBQ on the planet. Well, this past Memorial Day, I was put to the test. I ordered your product about a month ago and I was waiting for the right moment to use it. Memorial Day was that moment. I was invited to a friend's house to BBQ for about 40 people. I got off work late 30 minutes before everyone got there, and by the time I made it there all eyes were on me. "After using a rival product from Louisiana for 20 years, I must confess that I expect to jump from that ship to yours. The flavor of the rub is marvelous. I was so impatient that I tried it on a round steak which I rubbed, breaded and braised with tomato, onion and garlic. Not exactly barbeque nor true slow cooking at 2 hours in the oven. But your rub made something I never had before; moist and tender round steak with marvelous flavor. My wife is from Brazil and is looking forward to our smoked chicken, brisket, pork loin and pork shoulder which will be cooked with the rub in the new Weber smoker.

I also purchased a jar of Grilling Magic which I will use on a couple of dry aging t-bones which are in the refrigerator right now. "Received the Texas Rub on Monday the 9th and decided to try it out today. This is the first time I have ever used a rub and today I used it on a couple of pieces of pork loin. Awesome. The pork was very moist and just delicious. We are having some friends over on Saturday and are planning to cook some steaks. I am Canadian, but my wife and I have fallen in love with the State of Texas."

"They were great. About one hour before BBQ'ing four sirloin steaks, I put about one tablespoon of rub on both sides of the steaks and let them just sit and soak in that good rub. My wife and our guests want medium-rare and I like mine well done, so I BBQ'd them on medium heat. A couple of minutes before they were done, I lightly brushed them with Canadian Club whiskey honey smoked barbecue sauce. They turned our just delicious. Nice and tender and fairly juicy. I am now pretty excited about trying the rub on different types of meats. My friend likes to cook a beer or pork roast in a fire pit, buried in the coals, so I am going to ask him if I can use some rub on the roasts, and then I will let you know..."

"Good evening Bill: I want to let you know the tub arrived just as it was supposed to. Wanted to BBQ a brisket, however, I got my hands on some nice 4 pound chickens first. Used your rub with some Italian dressing and my smoke chips were 50% hickory and 50% mesquite. Actual cooking time was 3 hours at a tempt of 225 degrees. The results were fantastic. Meat was tender as I have ever done. Please know the taste was all I had hoped for and even more. You got something with your rub. "Love the rub on everything!!!!! Finished my 1st brisket yesterday afternoon. The best I have ever been able to & was completely satisfied. I think the amount of wood I used was adequate. I used a Cookshack smoker. I smoke cooked my brisket a total of 18 hours. 12 unwrapped & 6 wrapped in foil w/ your BBQ sauce all at 180 degrees. At first I thought the rub was too spicy, but it really isn't. I am not one who like hot spiced foods. So the rub is just right for the whole family. Can't tell you what others think about this brisket (outside the family that is) because I'm damn sure not sharing this one. Will share the rub though & future briskets I do. Thanks to you all & it will only get better w/experience."

“Received 2 lbs. of rub a little over a week ago, and after cooking a few things with it I thought I’d offer my results…..WOW! When I got it I was eager to give it a try and my first dinner was a beef brisket for my family. It was excellent!! They’ve been talking about it ever since. I used the leftover BBQ sauce and cooked chicken with it in the oven. Just poured it on precut whole chicken (covered) and switched it on bake for a few hours… very simple and very tasty. OK we heard from Ray again after he cooked brisket and here is what he had to say about smoking his brisket.

“I recently prepared 2 briskets and 2 slabs of spareribs using your rub and my bbq sauce on a “bring a dish” to church event. I was immediately approached by the church leadership to bid on a 500-600 people bbq catering job.” 

"Well, I did indeed get the rub, and it's everything I hoped for! That is some mighty good stuff.

Here's the difference between Texas, and the mountains of Colorado:

There isn't a "BBQ Season" here, or "BBQ Weather". We fire up the barbeque in blowing snowstorms, and just "blaze on". So, we don't have to wait for "bluebird weather" to enjoy the great taste of Texas BBQ Rub. Last week, we had to shovel our way through two feet of snow to get to the BBQ. That's a small price to pay, to have that great BBQ flavor. We love to rub Texas BBQ Rub on some rib-eye steaks - we cut them about 1-1/2 inches thick, and cook'em to medium rare, then slice them in about 3/8 inch slices, and serve them up on a bed of Romaine lettuce with a bit of Blue Cheese dressing on the side. Now THAT is a hearty salad! Cheers!"
