Texas Wild started its journey as a carefully crafted rub for wild game, originally known as Texas Wild Game Rub. When we first introduced it at our Third Annual QFest in November 2006, barbecue enthusiasts had the chance to experience its bold, well-balanced seasoning on everything from bison brisket and wild turkey to raccoon and wild hog. But something unexpected happened. As we continued testing Texas Wild on pork ribs, brisket, pork loin, and even a standing rib roast, we realized it wasn’t just for wild game. It was exceptional on traditional barbecue meats, delivering a perfect balance of spice, savory depth, and a hint of sweetness. That’s when we knew this blend deserved a broader audience. We decided to rebrand it simply as “Texas Wild”, ensuring that home cooks, pitmasters, and competition teams alike felt confident using it on any cut of meat.
